Parade of Visitors

My goodness! Who would've thought how popular I'd be!! My days are spent entertaining family, friends, and general admirers :). They come with gifts, doting smiles, and food and snacks for Mommy and Daddy. I'm definitely feeling the love.

I'm also starting early on the tagalog and chinese lessons. Here's what I've learned so far:
Tito = Gio Gio = Uncle
Tita = Ah Yi= Auntie
Gu Po Po = Grandaunt
Gu Gong Gong & Su Gong Gong = Granduncle
Lolo = Wai Gong = Grandpa
Lola= Wai Po Po = Grandma
Tai Po Po = Great Grandma

Aunties Michelle, Madeleine, and Carma: Here's Mommy and I kickin' it with her homies. Thanks for the sandwiches, salad, and yummy cake!
Gio Gio, Ah Yi, and cousin Emma: Cousin Emma was very gentle with me. It was nice to meet her...Also, since their visit Ah Yi gave birth to Cousin Sofie on October 15! Can't wait to show my new cuz the ropes.

Tito RJ. Notice how gentle he is with me :) Thank you tito for the outfit!
Tito Jamie doing a very good impression of my cheerio face. Salamat Tito Jamie for the contribution to my college fund!Tita Charlie and Tito JB: They brought some groceries over and bought PF Changs for dinner. Thank you!

Tita Reyna spent a lot of time holding and smiling at me. She laughs at the littlest things I do. Thanks for the cookies Tita Reyna!

Tita Marie, Tito James, and Ate Addi: They went searching all over berkeley for some late night Sashimi for mommy. They brought Hamachi, a delicacy mommy had to abstain from eating until I was born. Ate Addi also brought a couple of very special gifts for me. I'll write a whole separate entry for that :) Thank you!!

Gu Po Po, Tai Po Po: Gu Po Po went with daddy to the grocery store to buy a whole bunch of stuff. Tai Po Po brought fruits and chicken soup for Mommy. xie xie (thank you) for the Hong Bao (red envelope)

Lola Marilyn, Su Gong Gong , Tita Megan: Tita Megan helped daddy change my diapers and Su Gong Gong helped decipher the ancient chinese instruction for the smelly herbal teas that mom has to take for 30 days. Xie Xie for the Hong Bao
Gu Po Po, Gu Gong Gong: I felt very special because Gu Po Po seldom has time to cook and she made a special exception for me...Xie Xie for the won ton and hong bao :)

Wai Po Po and Wai Gong

It was so nice to hang out with Wai Po Po and Wai Gong. They visited me all the way from Shang Hai.
Wai Gong stayed for a week and he visited me in e-ville nearly everyday. Wai Gong was very comfortable carrying me...and to be honest, I was very comfortable in his arms!
Wai Po Po stayed with us for an entire month! I was so happy she was there! Those first few weeks, my parents were a bit anxious and nervous with me, but as soon as Wai Po Po came, all was well. There's nothing like the love and advice that comes from a grandparent and I know that mommy and daddy appreciated everything Wai Po Po did - cooking every meal for us, keeping the house tidy (so that mommy didn't freak out), and generally sharing a lifetime of experience as a mother. Thank you Wai Po Po! Come back and visit soon!

My 1st Doc Visit

On Tues, Sept 30th, I had my very first Dr visit. Everything is A OK. I'm up to my birth weight of 5.5 lbs, circumcision and umbilical cord healing well and Mommy and Daddy got all of their questions answered.

Copping an afternoon snooze before the fun begins

The highlight of my day was peeing on Daddy while he changed me...and as an encore, just when they thought I was done and as they were taking me to the scale in the next room, I surprised them by marking my territory all over the hallway wall! How cool is that! On a side note, props to mommy for being particularly savvy in staying out of shooting range.

We topped of our family outing with a patio-side lunch at Crepe Vine on College.

Hello World!! Welcome to my blog!

37 Weeks was a long time to wait but I'm finally here!! Can I get a woop woop!!

Official Name
Xavier Zhen-Zhen Vargas. Zhen-Zhen means "Integrity is here" - Holla. I also go by: boy, cutie, handsome, poopster, sleepy head, the list goes on. At this point, you can call me anything as long as you show me the milk.

Official Time and Place
Born: September 24, 2008, 6:12PM PST at California Pacific Medical Center. Mark it down folks. We gonna party like it's [my] birthday in 1 year :)

Tale of the Tape
Weight: 5lbs 8oz
Height: 17.5"
Wingspan: 18"
Vertical Leap: Not Applicable, yet. (can you tell that daddy's fantasy basketball is starting soon)

Here's a mug of me when I was a mere 3 days old. I'm trying to look tough with the beat down stare down, but a bit difficult to pull off with the pink and baby blue cap.

I wanted to give a shout out to Mommy!! She didn't curse, cry, yell, or say mean things during delivery. In fact, she was all business. We checked in at 11:30 AM, induced Labor at 1:30, took the Epidural at 4:30, started pushing at 5:21, and tadaaaaa...I was born at 6:12. Now don't let my cursory account of the events fool you. It was rough. The last 10 minutes Mommy's blood pressure sky rocketed crazy high but she pushed and pushed and pushed like my life depended on it. Mommy, you are amazing. Daddy thinks so too. :)

Here's a little clip of Mommy talking about me.

Thanks to Nai, Da Gu, Uncle JB and Auntie Charlie, Great grandma Minnie, Uncle Jon and Auntie Hanna, Auntie Reyna, and Cousin Omi, Bubs, Gabriel, and Mimi for visiting me in the hospital. I felt like a celebrity.

See you all soon.
